PRE ADOPTION CONSULTATION 

This consult should be scheduled a month before travel date.  

A detailed review of child?s available medical history is done, immunization records are checked. 

Available videos and pictures are discussed with parents. Height and weight charts if made available are compared to same age ethnic group norms. (not US/Caucasian children growth norms) . 

We recommend using our Health history Form to ask for specific information through your agency or on your arrival.  

Embassy sponsored physical exams are usually inadequate as they focus mainly on preventing entry of infectious diseases in US but ignore nutritional deficiencies and psychological and abuse issues.
